West Easton employees were given pay raises or, in the case of new employees, had their hourly wage set.

Dane Thatcher, our regular worker on the Road Department hadn’t received a pay raise in 4 1/2 years. A part-time employee, who was present at last nights Council meeting, hadn’t seen a pay increase since 2007.

Dane had been paid $16.00/hr. He will now receive $17.52/hr.

Part-time workers will see an increase from $10.00/hr to $13.09/hr.

Joan Hebner, our new Secretary, will be paid $15.00/hr.

Dave Gehman, whose contract we bought out for $1000 from the temp agency that supplied him to us, will be paid $15.00/hr, as Senior Clerk.

The Personnel Committee will be meeting this week to determine pay and hours for a Borough Manager, and also for an interim Borough Manager, should one be required while Council seeks a suitable candidate for the position on a permanent basis.

In a side note, Council also approved Dane spending up to $150 to purchase himself some type of portable cot or other device for his use, should he be required to spend exceptionally long hours in the Borough. It came to my attention that during one past snow storm he actually slept on the council room floor.
