Mayor Gross has declared West Easton will be in a Snow Emergency status beginning at 6:00 PM tonight.

Though snow isn’t expected begin until 8:00 PM the two hours should allow people time to find a place for their vehicles before our plows hit the streets, if they live along a snow emergency route.

The Council Meeting is still going to meet tonight at 6:30 PM at the Municipal Building, due to business that needs to be conducted. It should conclude at just about the time snow begins to fall. Parking in front of the building (along 7th St. snow route) will be allowed until the meeting ends.

Though I’m not one for emptying shelves at the supermarket of milk and bread in anticipation of Armageddon, I would suggest checking your supplies of fresh batteries for a radio and flashlights. High winds are expected with this Nor’easter along with the heavy snowfall that could result in power outages in our area.
