Two new ordinances are being reviewed by West Easton’s Solicitor, before being returned to Council for consideration.

One is a Burn Ordinance, which defines “Dense Smoke,” and prohibits open burning. However, this new ordinance will allow the use of small manufactured fire pits that meet guidelines and restrictions set forth in the ordinance.

The other is a Nuisance Ordinance that will replace Ordinance #338, now on the books.

Ordinance #338 was adopted in 1981 and hasn’t kept up with technological advances and other nuisances that have presented themselves in the last 40 years, such as drones, the use of laser lights, and other problems.

It is expected these new ordinances will be ready for the Council meeting in January, when a vote to advertise them will take place.
