Have a Weekend of Fun for Only $20

Looking for something new to try this summer? The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is providing first-time campers with gear and a reservation for two nights at 12 state parks for just $20. A four-person tent, rain tarp, four sleeping pads, four camp chairs, flashlight, lantern, camp stove and four hot dog/marshmallow sticks are provided. A park staffer will help the campers set up camp.

Note that sleeping bags or blankets are not provided. Also, some state parks do not allow the gathering of firewood from within the park. Most importantly, do not forget to bring your own mosquito and tick repellent.

The participating state parks include:
Black Moshannon, Centre County
Colonel Denning, Cumberland County
Gifford Pinchot, York County
Hills Creek, Tioga County
Little Pine, Lycoming County
Locust Lake, Schuylkill County
