Former West Easton Employee Palmer Hockman, Dead At 83

Palmer C. Hockman WEST EASTON Palmer C. Hockman, 83, of West Easton, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in Easton Hospital. Born March 17, 1934, in Williams Township, PA, he was a son of the late Elvin Sr. and Anna Hagley Hockman. His wife of 55 years, Dorothy A. “Dottie” Hockman, passed away June 8, 2016. Palmer retired from the Borough of Wilson Public Works and also worked part-time for Borough of West Easton Public Works. Previously, he was employed at Lafayette College. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are a son, Ronald H. Hockman of West Easton; four brothers, Simon Hockman of Palmer Township, Donald Hockman Sr. of Wiliams Township, Ed Hockman, of Washington, NJ, and Ronald “Jim” Hockman of Upper Nazareth Township; a sister, Joyce Anderson of Pen Argyl; nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Elvin Jr. and George Hockman, and four sisters, Pauline Kester, Dorothy Csordas, Elizabeth King and Carrie Smith. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Call Friday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
