After many years without a proper Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC), West Easton not only has appointed one for the position, but has also added a Deputy EMC.

Mr. William J. Concolino and Ms. Desiree Lake stepped up and submitted applications for the position of EMC.

Some may remember Mr. Concolino as a Councilman.

He was also Council President during part of his 6 years in office. He is a U.S. Army Veteran, worked as an Aide to a Pennsylvania State Senator, and been a member and Administrative Assistant to The Safety First Volunteer Fire Company.

Ms. Lake is currently running for Council, but has experience with Emergency Management.

She handles emergency management issues at Community Services For Children/Head Start, creating and implementing an Emergency Management Plan for that agency. In addition, she provides training for their staff in emergency preparation, updates that plan annually, and attends training classes on emergency preparedness.

Council voted unanimously to appoint Mr. Concolino as the new EMC and Ms. Lake as, Deputy EMC. Ms. Lake would assume the responsibility of EMC, if Mr. Concolino should be unable.

West Easton will send Governor Wolf an application for his approval of the EMC appointed. It is expected approval will not be a problem.
