The Council has a new President and Vice President following the Reorganization Meeting held last night.
I had made it known to some that I would not accept a nomination to continue serving as Council President.
I nominated former Council President Paul James (2018-2020), as our new Council President. His nomination was voted on unanimously by the other Council members present.
I next nominated Pete Mammana for Vice President, as he is the next longest serving member of Council, but he declined the nomination.
Paul James nominated me for Vice President, but I also declined the nomination.
I nominated Janie Jones Brown as Vice President. Her hard work as Chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee over the last two years has been nothing short of spectacular in trying to get the community involved in projects and activities.
She too, was unanimously elected Vice President by her fellow Council members.
Congratulations to Paul James and Janie Jones Brown. I wish them the best in the future as leaders of our Council.
It was pleasure serving as Council President.
