Borough Manager, Joan Heebner, has received confirmation that West Easton has been awarded $11,625 in the last round of the 902 Recycling Grants.
The grant application process was started late last year and submitted in February, 2018.
The grant will cover 90 percent of the cost in purchasing new recycling bins for residential units in the borough.
The contract for the grant is expected to arrive in about 2 weeks and would then have to be approved by Council at a following meeting. If approved, the order for the stamped and sequentially numbered bins can then be submitted to the manufacturer for production.
Each residential unit will receive one bin and cover, with the unique serial number assigned to the unit. Homeowners will not be charged for their bin, but the bin and cover will remain the property of the borough, should the home be sold, or a tenant moves.
Delivery of bins and their covers is hoped for sometime in late Spring of 2019.
