Former Councilman Ron Nixon was sworn in as an appointee this afternoon.

Mr. Nixon was appointed to Council on September 9th when council members met during their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. His appointment was unanimous.

Mayor Dan DePaul swore Mr. Nixon into office at Borough Hall.

Mr. Nixon will fill the council seat vacated by Mr. Jeff Breidinger Jr., who resigned in late July and leaves an unexpired term of two years for that seat.

Mr. Nixon will, while serving as an appointed councilman, also appear on the November ballot. He will be running for a full 4-year term seat and it is possible he may also run for the unexpired 2-year seat he now occupies.

Should he run for and win both the 2-year and 4-year seats, he will have his choice of which seat to accept and the one he rejects will then be filled by Council appointment until the next election in 2021.
