Inflation 7.5 Percent YOY Says Fed – But It’s Worse

In late December I wrote about how inflation numbers are manipulated. December of last year the Consumer Price Index of inflation was reported at 6.8 percent.

If you didn’t read my post regarding how inflation numbers are manipulated to present a lower number you can read it HERE, and I invite you to visit it if you didn’t read it, because the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics is telling us inflation from January 2021 to January 2022 is only 7.5 percent, but we know it’s much higher than that.

Much, much higher.

One only needs to go shopping to see prices have risen far more than 7.5 percent from last year, but we retail shoppers aren’t the only ones feeling the pain.

Lehigh Valley Ramblings put up a blog post in which some small local businesses disclosed how much it is costing them for goods, though I don’t buy the premise that the massive price increases are due to the pandemic.

I think it’s the corporations using the excuse of the pandemic to gouge everyone for as much profit as they can get, for as long as they can.
