Hazardous WasteOne of the most difficult things to get rid of is hazardous waste. Whether it’s gasoline that has gone bad, aerosol cans that still contain liquid but have lost their pressure, or even batteries that read, “Do not dispose of in trash.” Now you can get rid of all that hazardous waste for free and not have to worry about chemicals leeching into the ground, water, or air.

Northampton County Department of Community and Economic Development is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Event at Northampton Community College on Saturday, June 1, 2013 and again on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Hours: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM

This event is for Northampton County Residents ONLY. Bring a photo I.D. to verify residency.

No appointment is needed.

No need to leave your car.

FREE.

Use the Green Pond Road entrance to Northampton Community College Main Campus, Bethlehem Twp. ONLY. Follow signs to parking area across from Kopecek Hall & Lipkin Theatre.

The following hazardous waste items will be accepted:

  • Adhesives
  • Aerosol Cans
  • Antifreeze
  • Automotive Fluids & Cleaners
  • Batteries (All Types)
  • Compressed Gas
  • Fluorescent Lights
  • Flammable/Combustible Liquids
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Herbicides & Pesticides
  • Household Cleaners
  • Mercury-containing products
  • Motor Oil & Used Filters
  • Oil-based Paints & Stains
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Thermostats
