Last night, West Easton held its first council meeting of the new year and with only four council members present, it was a one to one ratio of council members to residents.
This is a council meeting I had considered not attending, but at the last minute I decided to go and record the event, though the battery in my camera died before the meeting ended. About 10 minutes is missing, but the last of the meeting wasn’t as interesting as the first 50 minutes.
Missing from the meeting were Councilmen Nodoline (illness), Niko (illness) and James (work conflict).
Though I attended, I decided to remain a spectator last night. I had my say at the last meeting and there was little to add.
As you will see when you watch the meeting, little had changed with regard to the budget. Carry-over monies is still unknown, though a motion was made to advertise the position of Borough Manager.
Once again, Dan DePaul seemed to be the only councilman concerned with the lack of information, both in the budget and in the minutes from the December meetings.
I’m hoping to find time this weekend to expand on some of the comments and animated conversation that took place during the meeting.
