West Easton Borough Has Dedicated People

Most people aren’t aware of the dedicated workers and helpful residents West Easton has, but I think this last snow storm demonstrates how difficult it would be to provide services residents expect, without a few individuals who are willing to step up.

Mr. Dane Thatcher, our Road Department Supervisor, had actually been on his previously planned vacation, but came off it to return to the borough and plow the roads through Wednesday night into Thursday.

Considering our road crew consists of just Dane and a seasonal worker, Brandon, West Easton operates on a bare minimum of personnel in order to help keep taxes stable. Brandon was also brought in to clear public walkways of snow while plowing was being done.

The second plow truck saw Mayor Dan DePaul at the wheel, assisting with removing snow from the roadways.

In our small community there are also good neighbors who assist those who need help with snow removal.

I’m sure there are others that I’m not aware of, but I’d like to mention my neighbor, Mr. George Illick.

Mr. Illick cleared the sidewalks of a number of neighbors, including one who recently broke his arm and was unable to operate his own snowblower.

Thanks to all of you who helped a neighbor and thank you to the road crew who worked hard to keep our roads safe.
