The national shortage of school bus drivers, as well as other positions in the schools, has reached such a critical staff shortage, one local school system is offering $1000 bonus for new van drivers, bus drivers, bus monitors, teachers, teacher aids, mechanics, and even custodians.
If you have a good driving record, and no criminal history, driving a school bus can get you a job that is unaffected by downturns in the economy and virtually lay-off proof. Medical and dental, paid days off, holiday pay, and a retirement account are also included.
Other positions available don’t necessarily require a good driving record, though background checks would still be conducted and all the benefits would still be included.
