Death

No, I’m Not Dying

I’ve been running into people I haven’t seen for awhile, and find myself being asked, “Are you OK?” or, “You aren’t seriously ill, are you?”

Despite one or two residents who would hope I’m not OK, and wish me dead, I’m in good health for my age. (Hopefully, that statement won’t trigger a demand at Council meetings for my medical records.)

I’m getting those questions because I dropped a little weight.

I figured since I’m at retirement age, and will be collecting Social Security soon, I should receive the bigger SS checks for as long as I can. To get as much money as possible, should the Social Security Administration need to reduce benefits 24% by 2037.

Before-After
No gastric bypass or stomach stapling needed.

Improving my odds of living longer meant slimming down a bit.

I’d like to tell you I hired a personal trainer, “Candy.” A pole dancer who provided me fitness training sessions at $1000/hr, but that wouldn’t be true.

It would be, if I could have afforded $1000/hr. Only because I believe in supporting the working class, of course.

Instead, I just cut out eating junk food on a constant basis. I’m eating more chicken. I eliminated white bread. I’m walking more.

I hope to be around a long time – To enjoy the company of friends, and to aggravate the hell out of those who hate me, by extending my existence.
