According to news reports, senators had reached out to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, asking that the Articles of Impeachment against President Trump be simple and succinct, in order for them to move as quickly as possible through the trial phase.

House Democrats circulated the draft of the resolution and they did oblige the request to keep it simple.

It consists of one basic charge. The easiest one to convict Trump on, and there is plenty of evidence to prove it, considering his conduct and rhetoric since the election in November.
