Every once in awhile you come across a news article that is just obviously waiting for jokes, even though it is intended to be serious.

Today’s The Express-Times story about a massage parlor located at 202 Village, Stones Crossing, had numerous comments being left on their website, Lehigh Valley Live. It wasn’t only the picture provided by Palmer Police that accompanied the story, but also the players involved in it that brought forth comments from readers.

I would venture a guess that the comments came from males, because we are after all, pigs. Or so my last girlfriend would tell me and she was never wrong about anything.

The serious side of the story is that a massage parlor, Happy Forest Spa was raided by police for prostitution on the premises.

It’s a serious story until men with a juvenile sense of humor are allowed to comment. They have a lot of material to work with regarding this massage parlor story and The Express-Times has already removed comments that weren’t obscene, but were obviously posted for laughs with sexual innuendo.

Such as the one that said, “I can’t speak for the entire forest, but my mighty oak was happy.” Others of the same type that were no more offensive were removed by the moderators of the website, including one that read, “I stopped going there. They rubbed me the wrong way.”

Apparently, the moderators for The Express-Times don’t have a sense of humor and think their paper should be read, rather than used for wrapping fish. At last look, I saw the number of comments go from 20 to 16. Of course, Lehigh Valley Live is well known for removing comments without following their own guidelines when doing so and often only leave those that they agree with.

Include me among the juvenile because I can understand why the comments are appearing.

Just take a look at the names that appear on the article about the massage parlor:

Palmer (the township)

Dong (the name of the owner)

Peters (the name of the reporter)

There is the sign:

“Enter in Back” (No need to explain that one)

“Happy Forest” (If you don’t know the reference to forest, lawn, rug, and others, ask elsewhere)

Finally, the story itself opens it to jokes. Among my favorite is, “…women offered an informant sex acts for money during three visits.”

Three visits. Really? Were the last two visits to verify the first visit? I want to know how I can get a job as a paid informant to bust illegal massage parlors. “Chief, I’m not sure what happened while I was there. I should go back a couple of more times before we raid them.”

How about the involvement of Homeland Security, who reportedly helped Palmer Township?

It must have something to do with the massage oils being used.
