The Last Second Christmas Gift – Email Delivery Gift Cards

giftcardIf you didn’t get your gift to the post office last week it likely won’t arrive before Christmas Day unless you are ready to lay out some serious cash using some type of express mail service.

Don’t sweat waiting until the last minute when Christmas is so close. Now, even if you have less than a minute to present a gift, you can send one that will be received only seconds after sending it. They are gift cards sent by email.

I hate shopping – especially Christmas shopping. Mainly because I never know what to buy, that the person really needs and won’t return. It’s why I depend on gift cards for much of it. My own preference is giving an email gift card from Amazon.com. Thousands of items in multiple categories, but there are many more retailers offering gift cards via email.

Gift cards have become increasingly popular as gifts, because you are basically letting the recipient buy their own gift (with your money) and most recipients are grateful they get to choose the item for themselves. It’s like giving cash, but your uncle, Floyd, can’t blow it at the race track.

No more comments of, “This is great, I only hope we can find a place for it” or, “I’m sure we’ll use this… eventually.” They don’t have to feign excitement and you don’t have the feeling you wasted two hours shopping for a perfect gift – and failed.

Even better, is that you can now email gift cards to those you won’t see at all during the holidays, or to those who sent you something in the mail that arrived right before Christmas, with no possibility of you getting something back to them before New Year’s Day, making you appear to be the uncaring bastard you really are.

You don’t even have to scour the Internet, trying to find the best retailer to fit the likes of your recipient.

VISA-personalizedGift cards from major retailers, such as Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, and many others (including specialty stores)  are amassed onto one website. You can even gift prepaid Visa and Master Cards that the recipient can use at any location accepting those brands.

In the past, I would just buy a gift card directly from the retailer. A generic card found near the cash registers and have the store put some money on it. I always got the feeling that a week after getting it, the recipient wouldn’t remember where it came from. That too, has been solved.

A single website now exists that not only offers all the gift cards you could possibly want to give as gifts, but also allows you to personalize the cards. You can upload a photo for the card face if sending a physical card, or doing the same when emailing the card. In the case of an email, the gift card can also be personalized with an animated greeting that you can choose from among the many they offer.
