Karma can be a bitch to those who deserve it, but it also rewards those who deserve good things.
Former West Easton Clerk, Jill Garcia was rewarded with a promotion at her new place of employment, Wilson Borough.
You may remember Jill Garcia resigned her position as West Easton’s clerk after being harassed by resident, Tricia Mezzacappa. Mezzacappa was found guilty of harassing Garcia, by Judge Richard Yetter and fined.
Few found fault in Garcia’s decision to leave West Easton and avoid future attacks from Mezzacappa that were done using her online hate blog. An appeal by Mezzacappa only resulted in the guilty verdict being upheld and the fine increased.
Shortly after the original verdict by Yetter, Jill Garcia accepted a clerk position in neighboring Wilson Borough, anxious to avoid having further interaction with Mezzacappa.
I spoke to Jill in person after she settled in at her job in Wilson and she conveyed to me that she was extremely happy working for Wilson Borough, where she received no abuse from any resident.
Jill has been promoted by the Wilson Borough Council to the position of Borough Manager and Borough Secretary.
Congratulations, Jill! You deserve it and we wish you much happiness in the future!
