Last week, I introduced the Wounded Warrior Research Enhancement Act. Our nation’s brave warfighters served in Afghanistan and Iraq with honor and distinction and we have a moral obligation to provide all of our soldiers with the best health care available. On July 19, 1910, the governor of the U.S. state of Washington proclaimed the nation’s first “Father’s Day.” However, it was not until 1972, 58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official, that the day became a nationwide holiday in the United States.
The campaign to celebrate the nation’s fathers did not meet with the same enthusiasm–perhaps because, as one florist explained, “Fathers haven’t the same sentimental appeal that mothers have.” Continue reading
Today I received a phishing email (supposedly from Capital One). It reminded me that there are still many people who are fooled by them and continue to lose money to Internet thieves, or have their computers compromised.
