District Attorney John Morganelli provided members of the West Easton Council with information regarding crime prevention in communities and the assistance his office can provide.

The informational meeting took place prior to the scheduled Council Meeting held on October 8th. The meeting was attended by Mayor DePaul, Councilmembers Dees, Lewis, Mammana, Bolash, and Junior Councilperson Nathaniel Kober. Absent Councilmembers had employment commitments that prevented their attendance.

Mr. Morganelli is reaching out to legislative bodies throughout Northampton County to find out the needs they have in finding solutions to citizen complaints that might be brought to them.

Because West Easton does not have a police department and relies on State Police with limited resources, his office is in a position to provide our borough with sting operations against crime and education of citizens about drugs, domestic violence, gang activity, and other problems that may exist in communities thoughout Northampton County.

Mr. Morganelli explained how his office addresses suspected crime activity and may direct a detective from his office to investigate complaints and provided additional information on how citizens can assist in reporting suspected criminal activity.
