Councilman Jeffrey Breidinger, Jr. submitted a formal letter of resignation from Council yesterday.

No action was taken at last night’s Council meeting, as a vote to table it until the August meeting allows Council President Paul James to participate in a vote to accept the resignation. Mr. James was unable to attend the meeting last night.

Council has 45 days to accept the letter of resignation after it is submitted.

In June, Mr. Breidinger expressed to Council that he had put a lot of thought into the decision and after discussions with his family, he would be resigning from Council.

He asked that his oral resignation be accepted immediately, by Motion of Council at the June meeting. However, no action could be taken until his resignation was submitted in writing.

He told Council it was a privilege and an honor serving with them, but wished he had more time to dedicate to Council work. He thanked the public who supported him during his election.
