West Easton Council continued hearing testimony for the 176 bed Residential Treatment Center at Monday night’s Council meeting.
The Hearing began on January 8th and was closed following additional testimony and the public being heard at the February 12th meeting.
The video of the final meeting is below.
Developer Abe Atiyeh’s company, Pennsylvania Venture Capital, seeks the facility to treat patients with addictions to “substances,” using an existing building on the old Chipman Mill property. The applicant is West Easton Two LP, a business entity of Pennsylvania Venture Capital.
The Conditional Use Hearing was held in relation to Ordinance No. 966 that amended the types of businesses that could be placed in the Light Industrial Districts of West Easton.
Ordinance No. 966 was adopted in September of 2013 under the auspices of a previous Council, all of whose members are no longer currently serving.
Under Conditional Use an application must be granted to the allowed business if it meets the requirements of the ordinance, but it does not restrict the Council from imposing other reasonable conditions upon the applicant that they must meet.
