While another winter snow falls in the form of a clipper system a road crew with heavy equipment began work in West Easton.
Their job: Remove the mounds of snow from corners and other areas along the snow routes that is restricting traffic, or causing a hazard by obstructing a driver’s view of traffic approaching from either side.
Mounds of snow along the emergency routes were previously marked with orange stripes in order to indicate to the driver of the front loader how far back from the corner the removal should extend.
The work was being performed on Ridge Street when the pictures below were taken and snow from that area is being deposited into the empty lot located just above Spring Street.
As work progresses further into town the snow will be deposited in other areas where it can melt without concern, such as the ball park.
The anticipated snowfall today, a laughable 4″ after having dealt with the 18″ of Winter Storm Pax, should cause little difficulty in the heavy equipment operators continuing throughout the day.
UPDATE: Added 5 more pictures at end of slideshow. Taken on 2/17/14 along Keystone.
