Council approved advertising AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF WEST EASTON, COUNTY OF NORTHAMPTON, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE PENALTIES FOR LATE PAYMENT OF SEWER AND REFUSE SERVICES.
The new Ordinance, if eventually approved by Council, would set the late fee at 10 percent. An additional 6 percent would accrue annually if money owed isn’t paid in full.
For homeowners, the new late fee would be less than the flat rate of a $20 late fee now charged, if they become current before the next billing cycle.
Fees would begin to add up though, should a homeowner fail to pay in full through multiple quarters, or businesses with higher bills, fail to stay current on payments.
