raised handWest Easton Mayor Gerald Gross began last nights council meeting with the swearing in of re-elected and incumbent council members Tom Nodoline, Louis Niko, and Tim Jones, along with council appointee, Paul James, who will replace former councilwoman Marion Molleur.

Molleur resigned from the West Easton council by letter, in October.

Elected Tax Collector Elizabeth Hanni was also sworn in. Much to my disappointment, she wore no top hat, black cape, nor sported a large handle bar mustache, as I expect any respectful tax collector should have.

I hope she will at least provide me with an evil laugh when I pay my tax bill.

Recycled Councilman-elect Dan DePaul, having won a seat in November’s election can not be sworn in until he takes the seat currently occupied Councilman Karl Hontz, who chose not to run again for council.

Hontz will vacate his seat at the end of this year.
