Tricia Mezzacappa, facing a charge of filing a false police report, sought to have taxpayers foot the bill for her defense. She attempted to obtain a court appointed lawyer to defend her, but was slapped down.

Morganelli
“Constable” Mezzacappa’s Hate and Vitriol: She promised “almost unlimited funding” to defeat Mr. Morganelli in this foul-mouthed post.

Possibly, reasons for her being denied might be because she posts publicly about bankrolling candidates. She has also publicly disparaged people regarding financial setbacks, while presenting herself as financially sound.

Whatever the reason, Judge Stephen G. Barrata didn’t buy her “poor me” rhetoric, as indicated in her court docket.

Her request for a court appointed attorney followed her losing the very capable defense attorney, John J. Waldron, Esq.

Waldron was granted his motion to remove himself as Mezzacappa’a attorney, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Waldron filed his motion around the time she failed to appear for a trial date, despite his advising her to appear, as ordered by the Judge. Mezzacappa was ultimately picked up in Lehigh County and spent a night in jail before being transferred back to Northampton County for a new bail hearing.

Knowing Mezzacappa’s past history of being unable to control herself publicly, it’s likely “irreconcilable differences” was a polite way of saying she refused to be cooperative with him, or follow his plan of defense.

Rather than keeping a low profile, Mezzacappa has continued her attacks on those she has on her hate list, as she falls farther into that black hole of vitriol and failed revenge she has created for herself, posting her unhinged anger on social media, for all to see.

Mezzacappa’s choices are now fairly limited. She will either have to find another lawyer, who will likely demand a very large retainer, given her history of hiring and then firing an attorney after not paying them for services, or she can try to arrange a plea deal on her own.

Given Mezzacappa has never admitted guilt on past offenses she has been found guilty of, including harassment and defamation, a plea deal would be a difficult pill for her to swallow.

My hope is, if she does receive a plea deal, it will include a court ordered psychological exam, followed up with some counseling to help her with her anger issues. What she does, in unsuccessfully trying to destroy others, only further ruins her own opportunities and reputation, which sadly, is now one of a vulgar, mentally disturbed common scold.
