West Easton has purchased a 2009 Ford Explorer police car.
Mayor Dan DePaul located the fully loaded SUV for a price of $4000 and had been soliciting the Council to approve the purchase, which the Safety Committee ultimately gave the green light to do at their last meeting.
Two other police cars, which were acquired at no cost and also located by the Mayor, are currently being stored until a determination is made of cost for repairs that may be needed on those vehicles.
The Ford Explorer is currently road worthy and will be ready for use when the part-time police force is eventually rolled out at a future date.
