West Easton Mayor, Council Primary Results – DePaul Wins, Nodoline Out

In what can only be described as a disaster for Republican challenger Tricia Mezzacappa and Democrat incumbent Tom Nodoline, the Primary did not go as hoped by them, in both the Mayoral and Council races.

111 Democrats and 81 Republicans in West Easton took the time to vote in this Primary Election.

Democrat Mayoral candidate Dan DePaul won the Democrat primary unopposed and also received 24 write-in votes from Republicans to win a place on their ticket, as well.

Tom Nodoline finished at the bottom, among the 6 Democrats running for the 4 available Council seats, and garnered only 7 write-in votes from Republicans, falling short of the required 10. The results knock him completely off the ballot in November’s General Election.

Tricia Mezzacappa won a seat in her unopposed Republican Primary, but will have one person on the Republican side she had hoped to eliminate completely. I will appear on both tickets, having obtained 17 Republican write-ins.

Council candidate and newcomer Jeff Breidinger, Jr. was the top vote-getter among the Democrats with a dominating amount of votes and also will appear on the Republican ticket, obtaining 14 write-ins. A result I expected and assured him of, as he pondered upon the final results during the day, along with his parents who supported him at the polls.

*As a side note to my previous post of the Kelly Gross write-in campaign, it was relayed to me this evening that Kelly stated she was not involved in any write-in effort for her, or had been part of Tricia Mezzacappa handing out requests to write in her name. Kelly received 3 write-ins on the Republican ticket. An additional one, simply written as, “Gross,” was also recorded.
