West Easton has little serious crime, but as in any community, domestic disputes can and do happen. It is alleged to have happened here, on Friday.
Kenneth J. Kondash, 39, is accused of attacking his girlfriend during an argument in their home, located on the 200 block of Spring Street at about 4:30 a.m. Friday, Northampton officials said. Her son was awakened by gasping noises and his mother calling his name.
The son stated to police that he found Kondash with his knees on his mothers chest and his hands on her throat.
Kondash’s girlfriend stated to police that she could not recall exactly what happened, she did recall that Kondash suddenly grabbed her by the neck during an argument. She said Kondash had arrived home upset and had been drinking.
Kondash left the scene before police arrived, but was eventually apprehended by Wilson police.
Kondash, 39, was arraigned on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 15
