West Easton Election Results 2013

you_decidedWith about 23% of eligible voters participating in the election, West Easton results were not surprising.

With only one possibility of an upset victory by Republican candidate Tricia Mezzacappa, the final outcome found her second bid for a council seat faring worse than she did only 2 years ago. More than 60 republicans turned out to vote in West Easton. Apparently, some of them don’t vote straight up and down the party line. Around 20% of the republican voters could not bring themselves to vote for the only R candidate running for one of the 4 council seats open in West Easton.

As I’ve said before, local politics should be exempt from deciding who to vote for based on party affiliation. It requires thought and weighing the candidates on issues that affect the borough. All elections require knowing who the candidates are and what they represent. As a Democrat myself, I’ve never voted a straight ticket in any election and that includes presidential elections.

Here in West Easton at least, voters do know and voted well enough to reflect the right choices for the next two years.
