West Easton Council voted last night to approve donations for Safety First Vol. Fire Company, Mary Meuser Memorial Library, West Easton Scholarship Fund, Wilson Recreation Board, and Suburban EMS.

Safety First received $20,000, an increase of $2000 over 2018.

Mary Meuser Memorial Library received $9000. It is an increase of $300 over 2018 and meets the request of the library.

West Easton Scholarship Fund received $1000, an increase of $500 over 2018.

The donations to the Wilson Recreation Board of $1000 and to Suburban EMS of $150 remained unchanged from last year.

All motions for donation amounts were approved unanimously by Council.

Meanwhile, a separate fund drive for Mary Meuser Memorial Library, to raise capital from private donations through a GoFundMe account is off to a lethargic start. GoFundMe money will be used to try and obtain a matching amount from a Keystone Library Grant.

As of this writing no community representatives, other than myself, have donated their own personal funds to the GoFundMe effort.

Only $125 has been raised with private donations from approximately a half dozen caring citizens.
