Chairpersons and members were assigned to 7 committees that meet and report to Council.
Committees are made up of three Council members, with one acting as Chairperson. Each of the 7 members of Council are assigned as Chairperson of one committee.
Changes were made to a few committee names, as well as their oversight duties.
UTILITIES & FIRE SERVICES (formerly, Utilities)
Chairperson: Paul James Members: Pete Mammana, Ken Decker, Jr.
Along with public services provided to the borough, this committee will advise Council of MS4 needs and monitor the budget reports provided to Council, from Safety First Volunteer Fire Company.
PUBLIC SAFETY & PERSONNEL
Chairperson: Matt Dees Members: Janie Jones Brown, Paul James
General safety of the borough, police budget monitoring and oversight. Personnel safety and other matters involving borough employees.
PROPERTY & ROADS (formerly, Property/Highways)
Chairperson: Ron Nixon Members: Dave Bolash, Ken Decker, Jr.
All property within the boundaries of West Easton (excluding public parks). All roads and Road Dept. equipment.
LEGAL & TECHNOLOGY (formerly, Legal/Newsletter/Computers)
Chairperson: Dave Bolash Members: Matt Dees, Janie Jones Brown
Matters that may involve developing/revising ordinances, or others items that may be presented to Council for legal consideration. All technology used by the borough, including but not limited to, website, security, phones, and computers.
PARKS & RECREATION (formerly, Recreation)
Chairperson: Janie Jones Brown Members: Ron Nixon, Pete Mammana
All property within the borough’s park boundaries, including monuments, play equipment, benches, fencing, etc. (excluding sidewalks and curbs). Investigate and develop activities and events for the community.
GRANTS & PUBLIC RELATIONS (formerly, Grants)
Chairperson: Ken Decker, Jr. Members: Dave Bolash, Ron Nixon
Seek all grant opportunities from the federal, state, and county levels that the borough may benefit from and qualifies for. Assign to the appropriate committee, any written complaint that may be submitted to the borough on the Complaint Form provided. Report to Council complaints received and ensure a response is provided to the resident in a timely manner.
BUSINESS & FINANCE (formerly, Finance)
Chairperson: Pete Mammana Members: Paul James, Matt Dees
Oversight of Borough Hall offices, working with Borough Manager on needs that may arise that are non-technology in nature. Oversight of current year’s budget and preparation of next year’s budget.
