At around 8:00 PM last night a neighbor knocked on my door and said she smelled gas. Surprisingly, she wasn’t accusing me.

Walking with her to the corner of Keystone and 2nd Streets, it took a few minutes, but eventually I could get light whiffs of natural gas on occasion.

UGI was called and arrived about 45 minutes later, drilling some very small holes in the street for their “sniffer” equipment.

They confirm that there is a very minor leak in the area and said they will be back today to investigate further and isolate the problem.

The leak poses no immediate danger to residents or homes.
