Council will delay the removal of the trestles, seeking additional grants to cover the costs.
Originally estimated at $180,000 in 2019, to remove the trestle over Spring St., a new estimate provided by the engineering company now puts a price tag of $226,000 on the project.
To proceed with the removal would require West Easton to add at least $71,000 from the General Fund to the $155,000 in grants already awarded.
The application for the next round of grants will seek monies for removing both the trestle over Spring St., and the trestle over Iron St.
