The Chicken Littles will be disappointed that their predictions they began in 2016, of West Easton going bankrupt, still hasn’t come true.

West Easton Council reviewed the proposed budget for 2020 on Monday evening and it was good news.

Carry-over money from 2019, plow truck payments being eliminated (having been fully paid off this year), the use of grants in 2019, and other unwritten cost-saving practices by Council and staff will allow a “No Tax Increase” budget for 2020.

It will be the 5th year in a row, beginning in 2016, of our millage rate remaining steady and the borough being financially sound.

If accepted by Council, following the advertising and public review timeline, the millage for West Easton homeowners will be 11.7.

Our working capital is also better off than it was when incoming 2016 Council members entered office.

Council will vote on December 9th to accept or reject the proposed budget.
