Millionaire? Councilman Dees Owns HostGator Says Tricia Mezzacappa

The quote below was made during the last Public Comment portion of the West Easton Council Meeting, held on February 13th, 2017. Mezzacappa was addressing Council President Dan DePaul. She left the meeting immediately after throwing it out there.

“About this advertising on the Borough website, Dan. If somebody advertises that’s one thing. If somebody clicks on the ad, revenue goes back to HostGator, which is owned by Councilman Dees.” ~ Council Candidate Tricia Mezzacappa

Mezzacappa said it in reference to a Council discussion allowing businesses to display advertising on the Borough’s website. While the advertising was approved, the yearly fee that would be charged for advertising on the website still has to be determined.

Advertising fees charged to businesses would help pay for the cost of the domain name and the hosting service, HostGator, upon which the domain, westeastonborough.com stores its files and coding, so it can be viewed by visitors on the Internet.

When I built West Easton’s official website – at no charge for my work – I chose HostGator as the hostserver because I have a decade long relationship with them, having built hundreds of websites using their hosting platform. I know them to be dependable and trustworthy with an “uptime” of 99.9%, meaning it is unlikely you will find the website down due to a problem with their service.

Mezzacappa, always looking for an issue, believes that “clicking” the advertisements will automatically generate additional money and that money will go to Hostgator. Since I own HostGator, she claims, I will make money from people simply clicking on the ads.

I don’t know if I should be pleased she thinks I am a millionaire, or just remain in awe at someone being so vacuous.

Her knowledge of the Internet could only fill a thimble, but what little understanding she has of it makes her only more ridiculous when she states something, as if she knows what she is talking about. Much like her believing she understands “metadata.”

In the instance of “clicking,” she is confusing ads the borough will apply, with those of Google Adsense ads. If there were AdSense ads employed on the borough’s website, additional revenue wouldn’t go to HostGator. It would go directly to the borough, the owner of the website.

As for my owning HostGator? Read below to find out why computer geeks would say Mezzacappa is 1000 Megabytes short of a Gigabyte. You’ll read why, if I did own it, I wouldn’t be writing this reply. I’d be relaxing on my yacht, which is tied to my bigger yacht, or Hula girls would be delivering drinks to me on a warm beach.

All of the information below, regarding Adsense ads and HostGator is easily found with any Internet search engine. If Mezzacappa wasn’t so blinded by hate, she might have been able to read it for herself, rather than just making another brainless accusation.

When you are done reading it, ask yourself if anything she tells you can be relied upon to be credible, truthful, or worth listening to.

Generated Revenue

Only ads provided by Google Adsense reward website owners, in the form of pocket change amounts, for simply “clicking” an advertisement. Google Adsense requires an account to be opened with them to install the coding necessary to display these types of advertisements. I installed no Google Adsense coding on the Borough website and no such coding has ever existed on the website. No AdSense Ads have ever appeared on westeastonborough.com.

West Easton will charge a flat yearly rate for displaying advertisements to local businesses that wish to advertise. Any links associated with the ads will direct the visitor to the advertiser’s website (if they have a website and provide a link for West Easton to include). No additional revenue is generated for “clicking” their ads.

HostGator (Hostserver) Ownership

HostGator was founded in October 2002 by Brent Oxley, who was then a student at Florida Atlantic University. By 2006, HostGator had passed the 200,000 mark in registered domains.

In 2007, the company moved from the original office in Boca Raton, Florida to a new 20,000 square building in Houston, Texas.

In 2008, Inc. Magazine ranked HostGator in its list of fastest growing companies at 21 in the United States and 1 in the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, Texas area. In 2010 an office was added in Austin, Texas. In 2011, HostGator started operations in India with its office in Nashik, Maharashtra and a data center.

On 21 June 2012, CEO and founder Brent Oxley announced the sale of HostGator to Endurance International Group, HostGator was sold to Endurance International Group for $225 million. .

So, according to Mezazacappa, I am the founder of Endurance International Group, Hari Ravichandran. I should have known better to think I could actually get away with living the simple life, keeping my vast financial empire hidden from the masses. I never anticipated that my scheme to get away from that terrible life of being filthy rich would all be discovered by Candidate for Council, Tricia Mezzacappa.
