A message from Rev. Paul J. Makar:
We appreciate all who wish to donate items for the relief effort, however, we cannot accept clothes or linens (unless they are brand new and packaged, such as packs of new socks, underwear, bedding, etc.) due to the massive influx we are experiencing. Currently, we are ONLY accepting the following items:
- Men’s boots US size 10-13
- Thermal underwear (new, NOT USED – all sizes).
- Infant/toddler formula (preferably dry/powdered).
- Dry food staples.
- Rehabilitation equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, etc.)
- Individual First Aid Kits/Trauma Kits, and also individual first aid/trauma items (the most needed item is wound sealing powder/gauze – quick-clot, celox, etc.; other items include tourniquets, gauze pads and rolls of all sizes, adhesive tape, band-aids of all sizes, bandages, antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointments, acetominophen, ibuprofen, tweezers, scissors, alcohol wipes and more)
- Urological pads, adult and children’s diapers.
- Flashlights (especially those that can be charged via usb ports).
- Portable chargers (especially solar powered usb chargers).
- Unlocked mobile phones, walkie-talkies, radio transmitters/receivers.
- Tactical backpacks and load bearing gear.
- Binoculars.
You can drop off items at Holy Ghost Chapel (directly across the street from Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church – located at 315 4th Street, West Easton, PA 18042) starting on Wednesday, March 16th, from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm, or at any branch of MEEST or DNIPRO (branch locations can be found online).
We are also accepting monetary donations in this effort. Holy Ghost Church can only accept cash or checks at the present time. Currently, we are earmarking funds for the following areas/organizations:
- Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia (they are working closely with Caritas Ukraine to provide relief).
- United Ukrainian American Relief Committee (UUARC/????? – providing direct shipment of humanitarian aid to organizations in Poland/Ukraine)
- Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church is partnering with Through These Hands, Fidelity Bank, St. John’s United Church of Christ, and other Easton/Lehigh Valley organizations to procure medical and humanitarian aid items for shipment to Poland/Ukraine. You may mark this is “Holy Ghost Church – Humanitarian Aid”
Please be sure to specify where you want your monetary donation to go to (either note this on the envelope or the memo line on your check) when donating directly to Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church.

A number of people asked about helping to volunteer to sort through items; due to the crunch of funerals and other items Father Paul is going through, we apologize for not having things in proper place. An email will be going out to all who wish to volunteer in this effort.
Stay frosty and pray hard.
Glory to Jesus Christ!
Glory to Ukraine!
