West Easton’s Emergency Text Alert System (ETAS) had a successful test this morning.

Scheduled days ago, to be sent out at 10:00 this morning, the system reported that 100 percent of the residents who opted-in to be notified of emergencies, received their text, or phone message.

Phone messages were delivered if a contact did not want to receive a text message, but preferred a call to their landline phone.

By all accounts the message was received simultaneously by all recipients within a minute of it being sent.

ETAS will be added to West Easton’s Emergency Management Operation (EMO).
