Back in May of this year I wrote about the WWI plaque, dedicated to West Easton Veterans who fought in “The World War,” and where that plaque is located. I promised to submit a Resolution to change that location.

The Resolution that followed in June was approved by a 4-2 vote (T. Nodoline, Lewis dissenting, H. Nodoline absent).

Last Monday evening, upon returning from Executive Session, Council followed through on that Resolution with a 4-0 vote (*Lewis, *H. Nodoline, T. Nodoline absent), approving $1875 for a granite stone measuring 18″w x 22″d x 30″h. The cost includes removing the plaque from the back of the War Memorial and remounting the plaque on the top surface of the new granite block, which inclines down, from the back toward the front.

The plan is to have the new granite block placed in front of the larger monument that holds the WWII plaque. No veterans names from WWII will be obscured by the new monuments position.

*For clarification, Councilmen Robert Lewis and Henry Nodoline left the Council meeting during the Executive Session and were not present for this vote. Councilman Tom Nodoline did not attend the Council Meeting.
