Sen. Lisa Boscola (D) is attempting to pass a bill that would allow police to fine a tractor-trailer driver $25 – $75 if they fail to remove snow and ice from atop their vehicles.

Though I feel the amount is hardly a deterrent to the problem, as most of these truckers would gladly pay a small fine, instead of spending the time to remove the hazard. After the recent fizzard, in which every weather service got the total snowfall prediction wrong, WFMZ (Channel 69) has found a way to never be wrong again.

We’re now treated to “Probability Forecasts.”

Snow possible? You are now squarely in the drivers seat in determining if you want to empty the local grocery store of milk, eggs, and bread in anticipation of a major snowstorm, or only having a broom ready to remove a dusting.

If you want an apology, listen to your local weatherperson, or read it online. The blizzard, hyped as a snow event that would cripple the Lehigh Valley, fizzled out and ultimately left us with only about 4″ of snow over two days.
