West Easton has been awarded a grant of $285,297 which is earmarked for two wooden trestles in disrepair and in need of removal.
I believe this latest award, added to a $155,000 grant previously obtained, may be enough to provide the total funds needed to move forward with the trestles removal project.
I doubt anyone will object to the project being funded through grants, considering how some local area objectors of grants accept them, when they are eligible to receive assistance in paying bills. They put their hand out, for a handout, when it benefits them.
The award was among many found on Senator Lisa Boscola’s website that posted the following:
State Senator Lisa Boscola today announced state funding totaling $9,714,755 for projects in the 18th Senatorial District through a new Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) – from gaming funds and the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF).
“I fight hard to make sure our local communities get their fair share of statewide dollars to complete priority projects” Boscola said. “These projects have been identified by local government leaders as important to improving the quality of life in their communities,” Boscola added.
