A Reminder About The Snow Today

With all the weather services and news outlets now in agreement that our area will receive 2″-4″ of snow today, it’s the first significant snowfall this winter and a good time to remind residents of how West Easton handles snow events.

Ordinance 632 states snow removal from sidewalks should be done within 12 hours after the snow stops.

A 30 inch minimum width path is required for pedestrian right of way. Do not place snow/ice in roads, on sidewalks, or next to fire hydrants.

Snow blower chutes should be pointed toward your property, not toward the street, or your neighbors’ property.

Please remember, we have only one maintenance employee and sometimes one part-time helper. They will get to your roads as soon as they can.

They start with the snow emergency routes first, followed by the hills, then main and secondary roads. Alleys are the last to be plowed.

As always, your patience is appreciated.

Please check the borough’s website, on the Public Works page HERE, for the snow emergency routes or pick up a paper copy at Borough Hall.
