While many of us might travel to and from work within well populated areas, giving us the feeling that we have no need for a winter emergency kit in our vehicles, it is something that everyone should have in the event of an emergency. It isn’t a common snow event and short drives in them that can find us in trouble, but the unexpected circumstances that can result in a real life threatening situation. Remembering Pearl Harbor And USS Arizona
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941. The attack on Pearl Harbor and other military bases located on Oahu, one of Hawaiian islands, led to the United States’ entry into World War II. It turned a nation of people whose majority favored a policy of isolationism before the sneak attack, into a global military superpower by the war’s end. Continue reading
Protect Your Home – Water Sensor Alarms Prevent Major Damage
Over the weekend I had a job to do in my basement. I had a large water pipe break and if not for my water sensor alarms I might have had considerable damage to tools and boxes of items I keep down there, let alone the damage I might have had to my furnace, electrical lines, and basement walls.
I have to admit that I probably wouldn’t have purchased the sensors except that I had an existing problem when I purchased my home. Continue reading
