On January 13th, at the open council meeting, a discussion was held and voted on, to sign an easement contract (“Agreement”) with UGI, to place a gas pressure reducing (“Regulator”) station on a 15′ x 30′ area, in a parcel of property owned by the borough.

CouncilĀ  voted to approve the easement and approval was contingent upon UGI agreeing to compensate the borough $25,000, rather than the $18,500 originally offered by UGI.

It was announced at Monday’s Council Meeting that UGI accepted West Easton’s counter-offer and the agreement had been completed and signed by both parties.

Contrary to our common scold misrepresenting to the community that the UGI agreement was not made public prior to this past Monday’s meeting, it was.

The borough has also not “given” the property to UGI. Another false statement put out to the public. The borough still owns the property, only allowing the use of the 15′ x 30′ of above-ground area, along with an area for underground piping.

The regulator station will be located across the street from the Public Works Garage and when completed will be enclosed with fencing.

The regulator will help ensure safe delivery of low pressure natural gas to the community.
