Following my previous post regarding the 1772 Odenwelder House located on the old Chipman Mill property, I was contacted by a reporter from The Morning Call.
I was pleased to know that more than just cRaZy people with aluminum foil hats read my website.
Reporter Christina Tatu had some questions after she read my post. She wanted some background regarding the house, the permit process, and the history. She was beginning on a story about the house and wanted to find out more.
She did a great job.
I’m assuming she spoke directly with its new owner, Abraham Atiyeh. She reports that Mr. Atiyeh “might” put the demolition on hold. He said he likes history, but wants to be shown the history of the house. He then “might” consider putting money into moving it.
Ms. Tatu’s article in The Morning Call can be read HERE.
UPDATE 6:30 PM This story is apparently getting some legs. WFMZ Channel 69 News reports that Mr. Atiyeh has changed his mind and put the demolition on hold. He stated he is hoping to work with the county in moving the building.
