Reversing a previous decision to hold off on building a garage for the borough until 2019, Council has decided to move ahead with the building this year.
The original decision was made with the hope that the project could be totally completed in 2019 with an additional grant, rather than in phases over the next few of years.
However, it was pointed out that an additional grant, obtained in 2019 could delay the project to 2020, awaiting the grant notification and the delay caused in obtaining bids.
Also, even an uncompleted building would be better than no building at all, considering space for vehicles and equipment is desperately needed.
Approval for seeking bids to erect a 40’x60′ pole barn building was approved by Council at last night’s meeting.
If there are no unexpected surprises the pole barn building should be standing before the end of this year. The building will be located on Ridge Street.
Phase Two of the project will address issues of water, power, cement floor, and other needs.
