Study Shows Link Between Pesticides And Autism

Pesticide Crop-DusterMany of us have suspected that the use of chemicals, growth hormones, GMO’s, and other man-made changes to our food is contributing to what has become an epidemic of children diagnosed with autism, or development delays.

It would appear that one study is providing more evidence in proving those suspicions. Exposure to several common agricultural pesticides during pregnancy increases the risk of developmental delays and autism in children by two-thirds, this new study found. While the researchers did not say pesticides are the cause of autism, a direct link is plausible. Continue reading

Happy Father’s Day – Know Why?

fathersday2On July 19, 1910, the governor of the U.S. state of Washington proclaimed the nation’s first “Father’s Day.” However, it was not until 1972, 58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official, that the day became a nationwide holiday in the United States.

The campaign to celebrate the nation’s fathers did not meet with the same enthusiasm–perhaps because, as one florist explained, “Fathers haven’t the same sentimental appeal that mothers have.” Continue reading
