West Easton Borough Hall will be closed to the general public through at least the end of March, as our borough does its part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
An official notice was issued this evening and residents were first notified of the changes to take effect on Monday by ETAS message. The Text Alert was sent to those who opted into ETAS. The notice can be found on the borough website and on Facebook.
Employees will still report to work, but interaction with the public in face-to-face meetings will be curtailed.
Payments of bills and taxes will be accepted from the drop slot located on the side door of Borough Hall and will be checked frequently.
Forms a resident may require can be downloaded from the borough website, or on this site under, “Downloads.”
Parks and playgrounds will remain open, but play equipment will not be disinfected, so parents are urged to follow recommended safety precautions issued by the CDC.
In conferring with Mayor DePaul, Borough Manager Joan Heebner, and having already received input from EMC Bill Concolino, it was decided that the precautions are necessary to protect not only employees in the office, but our residents who would be entering throughout the workday, if Borough Hall remained open.
The situation with COVID-19 will be monitored closely by borough officials to determine when access restrictions will be lifted.
