It was announced tonight that Councilwoman Marion Bogusky Molleur has resigned from her seat on West Easton Council, having only served approximately two years of her 4-year term.The announcement came from Council President Kelly Gross, as Marion Molleur was not present at the meeting.
Marion was elected to her first 4-year term to the West Easton Council in November, 2011, being part of the 3-person Democratic ticket that easily defeated two Republican candidates, who also vied for 3 seats in contention. Marion served on the Finance Committee and the vacancy on that committee will now be filled by Councilman Tim Jones.
Molleur, 63, spent almost her entire life in the borough and her parents and grandparents were active in the West Easton community, she told the The Morning Call, when she ran for a council seat in 2011. Her initial bid for council wasn’t politically motivated, she was quoted as saying. She just wanted to help the community. As a side note, Marion’s father was the first Chief of Police in West Easton.
Ms. Gross provided the reasons given by Marion for the decision to resign. In lacking excitement and filler for this entry the reason is pretty boring…
Marion is moving.
She is selling her home and will no longer be able to serve on Council.

This leaves a vacant seat on the West Easton Council that will need to be filled for the remaining two years of Marion’s term.
